I hold a regular “Come and Paint” watercolour classes on:
Saturday mornings 10am – 12.30pm at
The Dewlish Chapel, Middle Street, Dewlish, Near Dorchester DT2 7LX
We are a small friendly group of mixed ability. I help each student individually with their own project. Complete beginners are very welcome. I introduce students to watercolour painting with some exercises, we build some techniques before embarking on individual projects.
Please contact me if you would like to join us.
Colette Harris “20 yrs ago, I started evening classes with Anita in basic watercolours.
I can’t recommend Anita enough and it is because of Anita that I am now enjoying my artwork so much.
I have evolved into mixed media, but without Anita none of this would have happened.
If any of you are thinking of joining one of her classes go for it, as she is such a relaxed and calming influence on anybody who is nervous”.
Gill Pulling “Anita has a wealth of knowledge on painting techniques and is able to explain these in a clear and patient manner. In a very short space of time I learnt and used a variety of techniques and produced a painting to be proud of. The Chapel in Dewlish is a beautiful and tranquil place to learn”.
Ron Fawcett “I had not previously done any watercolour painting but with Anita’s tuition I very quickly developed good painting skills and learnt many painting techniques. Anita is a patient person and is very encouraging to all her class members regardless of their level of ability. I have always enjoyed Anita’s classes and whilst I now consider myself to be a fairly competent artist I am always grateful for the help and guidance that Anita provides.”
Elizabeth Rathbone “Anita is a dedicated, imaginative and inventive artist. Her work displays her willingness to explore a variety of styles from design to representational painting. Her love of nature and the countryside around her informs her work, and she is also gifted in portraiture, of humans and animals/birds. As a tutor, I cannot recommend Anita more highly. She is inspirational, and makes it possible for her students to achieve more than they might think themselves capable.”
Gill Bridle “I’ve attended Anita’s watercolour classes in Dewlish for a couple of years now, being a real beginner at the start. Anita is genuinely encouraging and I look forward to the weekly sessions – the group is particularly friendly and the Chapel is in a beautiful rural setting; a delightful contrast to living in a town! Anita is always willing to share her techniques and has a fresh approach to various styles of work. She has broadened my appreciation and knowledge of watercolour painting, and through individual tuition at classes I have developed well beyond my expectations!! I do find Anita’s work inspiring and I always come away having learnt something new.”
Jackie Martin “ Anita is an excellent teacher. I have been going to her class for two years now. She has a wealth of knowledge of watercolour techniques and is always happy to suggest ways to improve a painting. I particularly like watching her demonstrations and find her lessons both helpful and inspiring“.
